Invented during World War II for United States military use, ballistic nylon was originally developed to manufacture multi-layered ballistic jackets to help protect aircraft personnel from enemy impacts such as bullets, shrapnel, and other fragmentation.
Thanks to its 2x2 basket weave, ballistic nylon is known for its superior tear resistance, durable construction, and high-tensile strength. The Xtreme Sight Line Ballistic Nylon also features a polyurethane coating combined with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to help make this fabric a top-performing choice for heavy load bearing applications wet or dry.
