GRIEVING BACK TO LIFE Grief is hard. Finding help doesn’t have to be. This book is not self-help. It is a grief education and healing-rights curriculum designed to name, understand, and respond to grief in all its forms. As a professional grief coach and the creator of AYANA’s Grief Method, I developed this work to address a gap I see every day: people navigating profound loss without language, context, or access to support. Grief is too often treated as a personal weakness rather than what it truly is—a personal, collective, and systemic experience shaped by trauma, injustice, survival, and harm.Rooted in AYANA’s Grief Method, this book expands grief beyond death alone. It includes losses often excluded from traditional narratives—incarceration, identity, safety, housing, financial instability, disrupted motherhood, generational harm, and sexual trauma. It is especially relevant for Black and Brown communities, justice-impacted families, and those carrying cumulative or disenfranchised grief.
