Lessons Learned From My Patient: What Hospice Patients Taught Me

Navigating hospice can be the most difficult yet most rewarding experience you will ever have. In hospice we help patients live life to the fullest and support families as they navigate their loved ones final journey. Over the years, I have learned a lot about life from those people who trusted me to provide care and support to their families. Lessons Learned is a collection of essays I wrote as a way to educate others on hospice care but also as therapy for myself. These families become our family and we grieve every single life we encounter. I'm told "you're an angel" and "I don't know how you do it. It's so sad".
